What is the Report Export Tool?
The Report Export Tool is Listrak's platform for building, filtering, and delivering marketing data exports. It replaces Listrak's legacy report export tools with a single, self-serve experience: pick a report type, choose the columns and filters you need, preview your results, and export the data once or on a recurring schedule.
It is built for retail marketers, analysts, and anyone on your team who needs reliable, repeatable access to your subscriber, message, and order data without waiting on a data or IT team to pull it for you.
The Benefits
Usability. Build a report in minutes with a guided, point-and-click experience: pick a report type, select columns from a searchable list, apply filters, and see a live preview before you export anything. No query language or spreadsheet wrangling required.
Cross-channel coverage. Every report type spans Email, SMS, and App Push in one place, so you're no longer stitching together separate exports per channel to see the full picture of a campaign or a contact.
Expanded data coverage. Exposes data previously unavailable like item-level order detail, journey and campaign context, and additional engagement fields so you can answer more questions from a single export.
Report Types
Currently there are six report types, grouped into four categories. Each has its own detailed help article covering its exact columns and filters. Click the report names to learn more about each one.
Report | Category | What it tells you |
Performance & Revenue |
|
|
Message Data | Cross-channel send, open, click, and revenue performance by message
Order Data | Orders and revenue attributed back to the messages that drove them
Message Data | A per-contact log of every send, open, click, bounce, and conversion event
Audience & Subscription |
|
|
Contact Data | Track subscriber growth and status changes over time
Engagement Data | Daily subscriber counts and list growth/loss trends
Contact Data | A log of individual subscribe/unsubscribe events |
Key Concepts
Columns: Standard vs. Optional
Every report type comes with a default set of standard columns pre-selected for you. You can add optional columns from a picker, reorder columns by dragging, or remove ones you don't need.
Filters
Filters narrow the rows returned. Every report supports a date range (relative presets like “Last 7 Days” or “Previous Month”) and channel selection; most also support additional filters specific to that report type: list, message type, subscription status, and others. See each report's help article for the full filter list.
Preview
As you build a report, the tool shows a live sample of the data your current columns and filters will return. Use this to sanity-check your setup before running a full export by sorting on any column.
Building a Report
Start a new report. From the Reports list, click New Report and choose a report type from the category list.
Set date range. Reports typically have a relative date range to choose which data you would like to export, this selection also translates to the scheduled export configuration.
Set your filters. In the Filters popup, select any desired filters for attributes like channel, and any other filters available for this report type.
Choose your columns. In the Manage Columns popup, start from the pre-selected standard columns, then add any optional columns you need. Drag to reorder.
Check the preview. Review the live sample rows shown alongside the builder to confirm the report looks right before exporting.
Save the report. Give it a name and save it so you (or a teammate) can reuse, edit, or schedule it later. You can also run a one-off export without saving.
Exporting
Export from the Reports Dashboard or within an individual report.
From the Reports Dashboard:
Click the action icon within the row of the report you want to export.
Click Export.
Choose the File Type. Formats Include: CSV, TXT, or XLSX.
Click Export Now - to export immediately.
From an individual report:
Click the Export at the top of the dashboard.
Choose the File Type. Formats Include: CSV, TXT, or XLSX.
Click Export Now - to export immediately.
To schedule an export follow the steps below. Note a report has to be saved to add it to a recurring schedule.
Click Schedule Export - configure the cadence and the delivery method, the recipients and file options.
Delivery: email (multiple recipients), a saved SFTP integration or S3.
File options: none, a ZIP or encrypt it with PGP using your public key. Encrypted files are automatically compressed.
Downloads happen automatically once ready; email and SFTP deliveries run in the background.

From the Reports list, each report has quick actions available:
Edit: change columns, filters, or the report name.
Export: run an export for the specific report.
View History: see past runs, download files and view their status.
Duplicate: copy an existing report as a starting point for a variation.
Delete: remove a report you no longer need.

Tracking Run History
Every run (on-demand or scheduled) is logged in that report's run history, showing status (Queued, Running, Completed, or Failed), output format, delivery method, whether it was triggered manually or by schedule, start time, duration, row count, and file size. In-progress runs show a live progress bar. From here you can download a completed file again or view error details for a failed run.
