Q: What features in the platform use the Legacy Filter builder?

Audience Menu, Email Broadcast Messages, Dynamic Content, Email Split Testing Tool, Conductor, Listrak Exchange, any Email Contact Analytics Dashboards.

Q: What features in the platform use the New Filter builder?

Segments Menu and Email broadcast messages.

Q: Can filters built in one builder be copied into the other builder?

No, you will have to rebuild in the other builder.

⚠️ Review the chart above as some of the criteria available in the Legacy Builder is not available in the New Filter builder.

Q: Does the SMS channel use either of these builders?

No, however the design and the operators are the same as that of the (Email) New Filter builder.

Q: Which builder can I use CRM audiences in?

The Legacy Filter builder

Q: Is the data that is available between the builders different?

Most commonly used data is available in both builders, however there are some types of criteria that are builder specific, such as:

  • Only in Legacy

    • Smart Audiences

    • Saved Audiences

    • CRM Audiences

    • Split Test Segments

    • Email Client

    • List Subscription Status

  • Only in New Filter

    • Saved Segment

    • Most Recent Email Subscribe Date

Q: How would I exclude contacts when using the New Filter builder since there is not the option to use 'AND NOT' or 'OR NOT' operators?

Both filter builders will automatically exclude contacts that don't fit the criteria that is added to the filters. However, if you are trying to target contacts who purchased in the last 90 days but exclude those who purchased from X category; you will need to go about these differently for each builder.

  • In the Legacy builder you could use the AND NOT operator to exclude contacts who purchased from X category.

  • In the New Filter builder you will need to use OR operators to target contacts who purchased from all other categories except for the X category. ⚠️ Note the number of rules used can not exceed 20.
