To create a new Web Push broadcast message navigate to Messages > Push Notifications Web Push Broadcast and follow these steps:
Step 1: Design the Web Push message
Enter a unique message name (required).
Give the message a title - this is the headline of the push message.
Add the content of the message - the character count varies from Browser to Browser.
Enter the destination URL, this is the landing page the user will be directed to when the message body is clicked.
๐ก This will NOT be appear on the web push message.
Enter the icon image URL - this will display within the message body.
Enter the banner image URL* of the image that will display above the message body.
๐ก Both the icon and banner images can be uploaded to Listrak's media library or stored externally.
Up to two more actions (optional) can be added by clicking the Add additional actions checkbox. These appear as clickable buttons in the message body.
Enter a button name in the action text field.
Enter the destination URL.
โ ๏ธ The buttons will only appear if the web push notification is presented in a Chrome browser.
Click Continue to move to set step.
๐ก Click between Windows or Android to preview the Web Push notification message as you walk through the design setup.
Step 2: Configure the message
Select the merchant associated with Web Push notifications.
The estimated number of recipients will display below the merchant dropdown.
Enter values for Google Analytics tracking.
Campaign Name (optional) - utm_campaign=[UserCustomized]
Campaign Version (optional) - utm_content=[UserCustomized]
The UTM source, medium, and the link terms are automatically set, see below for details:
utm_source=Listrak
utm_medium=WebPush
utm_term(s)
Primary Link utm_term=[LinkURL]
Button 1 utm_term=[Button 1 Text]
Button 2 utm_term=[Button 2 Text]
Click Continue to move to set step or click the Back button to return to the Design page.
Step 3: Review the Setup
Review Content
Here you will see the message name, title, message content, destination URL, icon URL, banner image URL, and action text and URL (if applied).
Click Edit to change any of these setting or click the Back button, at the bottom of the page, to return to the Configure page.
Review Configuration
Here you will see the merchant name, estimated number of recipients, and Google Analytics campaign name and version (if applied).
Click Edit to change any of these setting or click the Back button to return to the Configure page.
โ ๏ธ Review your message carefully, because Web Push messages cannot be scheduled to send at a later date/time. They can ONLY be sent immediately.
Click Send Web Push to send message.
๐ก Helpful Tips
The option to save as a draft is not available, make sure all assets and content copy is ready when you begin creating your message.
Messages will go to the full audience, segmentation is not available.
The estimated number of recipients may be larger than the actual list size at time of send. This is because unsubscribed contacts are not calculated in real-time but at the time of the next sent web push message.
Messages will send immediately, they cannot be scheduled to send at a later date/time or be scheduled as a recurring send.
Web Push analytics such as conversions, revenue and click-though are captured and tracked. To view these metrics please contact your Account Manager for access to your report.
You will not be able to access a list of contacts who have signed up to receive Web Push notifications.
The URL that appears on the web push message is the domain name.
The destination URL is where the contact will be directed to when they click the message, but will not appear in the message.
