The New Filter builder offers many of the same criteria for targeting contacts available in Legacy Filter Settings, as well as access to some new criteria and an easier-to-use interface. Criteria will continue to be added to provide more access to data to deliver highly targeted campaigns.


First Email Subscribe Date

The date a contact first subscribed to an email list.

Most Recent Email Subscribe Date

The date a contact last resubscribed to an email list.


Include/exclude contacts within a saved segment. The selected segment name will always display making it easy to identify which segments were used when reviewing message reports. Learn how to create a saved segment for reuse. Note: This criteria type is ONLY available when building filters in the Message Authoring page and not when creating a saved segment in the Segment Manager page because they cannot be nested.


Email Address

The email address of a contact.

Profile Fields

Custom metadata fields for collecting additional data for a contact.


Last Email Send Date
The date a contact was last sent an email.

Last Email Open Date
The date a contact last opened an email. How are opens captured?

Last Email Read Date
The date a contact last read an email. How is read captured?

Last Email Click Date
The date a contact last clicked an email.


Purchase Status
A contact either has or has not purchased from a merchant.

Order Date
The date a customer first or last purchased from a merchant. Note: Using a negative operator such as "is not between" will also return contacts that have not purchased. These contacts can be excluded by selecting "has purchased" from the Purchase Status criteria.

Order Total

The total price of an order, evaluated using one of the following operations:

  • Sum of all orders
  • Average of all orders
  • Largest of all orders
  • Smallest of all orders

Note: Negative order totals may be included in filters using a "less than" operator for cases where orders were returned or refunded.

Order Source

The source an order was received from a customer, for example, email, fax, phone, or simply in-store or online. Note: You can review sources for a merchant under Solutions > Data Summary > Buyer Activity > Point of Purchase.

Order Count
The number of times a customer purchased from a merchant over all-time.

Order Item SKU

The stock keeping unit of an item in an order.

Order Item Master SKU

The master SKU of an item in an order.

Order Item Title

The name of a product in an order.

Order Item Price

The unit price of an item in an order.

Order Item Quantity

The quantity of a line item in an order.

Order Item Gender

The designated gender of a product in an order.

Order Item Brand

The brand of a product in an order.

Order Item Category

The category of a product in an order.

Order Item Subcategory

The subcategory of a product in an order.

Order Item Size

The size of an item in an order.

Order Item Style

The style of an item in an order.

Order Item Color

The color of an item in an order.

Order Item Meta 1-5

Additional meta data for an item in an order.

Note: The values entered for text criteria such as Title, Brand, Category, etc. need to match those found in your product catalog which can be reviewed in the Product Summary under Solutions > Data Summary > Product Information > Product Summary. You may need to export to view additional data not displayed online. Not case sensitive.
