Adding Coupons to an Experience

Learn how to add coupons to a Popup Experience

Updated yesterday

A coupon steps allows the user to assign a coupon from a coupon pool directly in the content. The coupon and associated coupon attributes (optional) can then be dynamically included in the content by using the customizable tags.

To add a coupon step, follow the steps below:

  1. Make sure the coupon has been created in Listrak.

πŸ’‘ You can utilize static coupon codes, or unique coupon codes within Experience Builder.

  2. Navigate to the Experience the coupon step will be added into.

  3. Drag the coupon action from the elements panel.

πŸ’‘ The action element should be placed directly before the Popup in which the coupon appears.

  4. Click the coupon step to edit the properties.

  5. Give the coupon step a name.

  6. Select the coupon pool from the drop-down.

  7. Click Edit to figure the Coupon Settings' Attributes.

    1. Coupon Code Tag*(required): The user generated tag value, used to display the coupon value in the content.

πŸ’‘ Give your coupon code a name that can be easily identifiable.

    2. Coupon Title: A simple line of text that introduces and summarizes the offer.

      • Coupon Title Tag: The user generated tag value, used to display the coupon title in the content.

    3. Coupon Description: A line or paragraph of text that is used to describe the offer.

      • Coupon Description Tag: The user generated tag value, used to display the coupon description in the content.

    4. Expiration Date: The expiration date of the coupon. Note Listrak does not control the actual expiration of the coupon.

    5. Disclaimer: A line or paragraph of text that could include details about the offer, signing up, compliance, etc.

      • Disclaimer Tag: The user generated tag value, used to display the disclaimer copy in the content.

πŸ’‘ Helpful Tips:

  • The coupon code tag* is the only required field.

    • A coupon pool needs to be setup prior to adding the coupon step. Learn how to create a coupon pool.

  • The coupon action step must precede the content step when using tags.

  • Using unique coupon pools:

    • Unique coupons are linked to just one Experience at a time.

    • Unique coupons added in Experience Builder can only be displayed in the Popup Experience and can not be carried into a message (e.g. in a Welcome Series).

  • When the optional coupon attribute fields are filled out a Experience tag will be created to use in any of the subsequent popups in the journey. Copy and paste the tag wherever you want the values to be displayed. Example below:
