❓ How does the TikTok Integration function?

The TikTok integration connects your Listrak NextGen account with your TikTok Ad account. The integration is single-direction, sending audience data from Listrak to TikTok. TikTok will match the members of your Listrak Audience to their contact database. Within your TikTok Ad account, you can target these matched contacts or target TikTok users with similar characteristics of your matched contacts, called Lookalike Audiences.

As contacts move in and out of your synced Listrak audience, updated audience data will be sent to TikTok.

βš™οΈ Setting Up the Integration

⚠️ The TikTok integration is specific to the domain and organization in your NextGen account. Before following the steps below, ensure the organization and domain listed in the left sidebar match the integration you wish to set up.

  1. Navigate to Integrations > Integrations Management.

  2. Click Integrate on the TikTok card in the Partner Integration section.

  3. On the information page, click Set Up Integration in the top right.

  4. If necessary, log into your TikTok Business account.

    ⚠️ You must have admin or operator level access in TikTok to complete the setup.

  5. You will be redirected back to Listrak. TikTok passes back a token to identify the business account connected to Listrak. Your TikTok credentials are not stored in Listrak.

🎯 Setting Up Audiences

  1. Once the integration setup is complete, you can navigate at any time to Integrations > Integrations Management > Your TikTok Integration to create new audiences.

  2. On the landing page, click +Sync Audience at the top right.

  3. Drag at least one previously created segment into the include section of the audience builder.

  4. If needed for your goal, drag segments into the exclude section.

  5. Click Apply.

  6. On the next screen, give your audience a name. This name will help you identify the audience in both Listrak and TikTok.

  7. Lastly, click Connect to begin the process of syncing the audience to TikTok.

  8. Repeat steps 2-7 for any additional audiences you would like to sync.

πŸ”„ Managing the Synced Audiences

  1. Once the integration setup is complete, you can navigate at any time to Integrations > Integrations Management > Your TikTok Integration to manage your audiences.

  2. On the landing page you will see any audiences that are currently synced and their sync status.

  3. The table will display the following metrics:

    1. Audience Name: A readable name for the audience synced to your TikTok account specified when creating the audience.

    2. Match: The percentage of contacts from the Listrak audience that can be identified as TikTok users.

    3. Size: The total number of contacts who are members of the TikTok audience.

    4. Status: The current sync status of the audience from Listrak to TikTok.

      1. Pending: The audience has not yet been sent to TIkTok.

      2. Initiating: Listrak has completed the sync to TikTok, but the audience has not yet been processed in TikTok and cannot be used in ad targeting. An initial sync of an audience may take up to 48 hours to sync to TikTok.

      3. Syncing: The audience is the in the process of sending updated contacts from Listrak to TikTok to account for changes in audience membership.

      4. Active: The audience has recently sent to TikTok and is up to date.

      5. Too Small: An audience has fewer than 1,000 contacts which is the minimum number of contacts required by TikTok to be used in ad targeting.

      6. Failed: An error occurred when syncing the audience. Consider re-authenticating your TikTok account if more than one audience has failed to sync.

      7. Deleted Segment: A Listrak segment used in the TikTok audience has been deleted. This audience will continue to sync to TikTok. Contacts who meet the criteria of the deleted segment will continue to sync.

    5. Last Sync: The amount of time that has passed since the audience was last sent to TikTok.

  4. Click on the kebab menu (3 dots) to edit the criteria of an existing audience or delete the audience from your Listrak integration.

πŸ”§ Integration Settings

  1. Once the integration setup is complete, you can navigate at any time to Integrations > Integrations Management > Your TikTok Integration to re-sync your account or delete the integration.

  2. On the landing page, click Settings in the top right.

  3. Click Resync Integration to re-input your TikTok Business Account credentials. You may need to re-integrate your account if the user permissions are changed in TikTok.

  4. Click Delete Integation to remove the integration from your Listrak account.

    πŸ’‘ Deleting the integration does not remove an audience from the TikTok account, but the audience will no longer update and import new contacts or remove existing contacts who no longer fit the audience criteria.
