NextGen Platform Segment Management
Updated this week

Once segments have been built, use the Segment Management page to view trends and manage all existing saved Segments across all channels.

Access the Segment Management page by navigating to Contacts > Cross-Channel Segments or by clicking the Segments tab in the Contact Management page.

πŸ’‘ Segments are cross-domain within an organization and will reflect the same count regardless of which domain you are viewing in the platform until it is applied at the message level.

Segments Page Navigation

  • Segment: The unique name given to the segment.

  • Channel: Indicates what channel(s) are accessible to use the segment.

  • Segment Count: The segment count (1) is an estimated count of the contact identifiers who are subscribed to at least one program in any channel. This estimate is updated when the segment is first created and then once a day moving forward.

Hovering over the number of marketable contacts (1) enables a popup that displays the following information:

    • Last counted (2) is the date and time of the last updated segment count.

    • The number on the left side of the bar (4) are the number of identifiers opted in to at least one program in the channel.

      • If multiple channels are enabled in the account, adding the numbers on the left equals the estimated segment count (1).

    • The numbers on the right side of the bar (3) are the total number of contact identifiers that meet the segment criteria.

      • This number includes contacts who are not opted in to the channel, but have a known identifier (e.g. provided a phone number for shipping updates), but did not opt-in.

        • For example, there are 4,126 out of 4,273 contacts that can be marketed to in the email channel and there are 948 out of 1,083 contacts that can be marketed to in the SMS channel.

  • Trend: The trend shows the growth or shrinkage of a segment's count over time. Hovering over the value enables a popup that shows the number of days, graph and number of contacts that are currently in the segment.

    • The Segment acquisition timeframe shows up to 90 days of data.

    • Hover over the data points to see the subscribe count, the cadence is approximately every 12 days.

      .

πŸ’‘ Newly created segments will take 7 days to display the trend data, hover a trend to show when these trends will be available.

  • Last Updated: The timeframe the contact's information was last updated; displayed in 'x minutes/hours/days ago'.

  • Edit Kebab Icon: The option to edit, rename, or duplicate a segment. Learn more about building filters.
