How to create a Tap-to-Join (TTJ) Popup Experience from Scratch

Learn how to build the Tap-to-Join form from scratch.

Sometimes you want more creative control over your design and would prefer to create a Tap-to-Join SMS acquisition form from scratch within Experience Builder. Follow the steps below to learn how.

Design the TTJ popup

Typical elements include logo, headline copy such as incentive and compliance language (required) and the TTJ button and dismissal hyperlink.

  • Add the logo

    • Drag the image content element onto the canvas

    • Browse the image library to select or upload a new image

  • Add headline copy

    • Drag the title or paragraph content element onto the canvas

  • Add the compliance copy (required)

    • Drag the paragraph content element onto the canvas

      • For example:

        • By clicking the button below, you agree to receive recurring marketing text messages (e.g. cart reminders), which may be automated, to the mobile number used at opt-in from [INSERT BRAND NAME]. Only U.S. mobile numbers are eligible to participate. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Msg frequency may vary. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help and STOP to cancel. See Terms and Conditions & Privacy Policy.

        ⚠️ Make sure to update the brand name and links to T&C and privacy policy to your website.

Add the TTJ button (required)

  • Drag the Button content element onto the canvas

    • Click inside the button to update copy to indicate action.

      • For example: Tap to Sign Up

  • In the Button Properties panel click Add Action

    • Select Tap to Join

    • Select the applicable Sender code from the dropdown

    • Select the Keyword you want to have the subscriber connected to (Need to be created before configuring the TTJ)

    • Select Apply

  • Add the dismissal hyperlink (required)

    • Drag the paragraph content element onto the canvas below the button

      • Update copy

        • For example: No Thanks

    • Make the copy a hyperlink by doing the following:

      • Highlight the text (No Thanks) which will display a configuration panel

        • Click Add Action

        • Select Close Popup

        • Select Apply

  • Edit the Container - after the popup is saved you will need to edit the container size.

    • On the Experience Builder workspace, click the TTJ popup to enable the property panel.

    • Click Edit Container

      • Change the width to 340 (this is the only required change in the default popup settings)

      • Click Next to apply
