You can exercise control over the text and images used in Predictive Content Recommendations by using Listrak meta tags.  These meta tags are completely optional, but allow you to tell us exactly what image, title, and description to use for your content items.

AVAILABLE META TAGS

Override URL Rules (Include/Exclude Content):

  • <meta name="listrak.content" content="true" />
  • <meta name="listrak.content" content="false" />

You can mix and match the URL rules and Listrak-content meta tags in your configuration. The Listrak-content tag will override any URL rules you have set in the URL rules manager.

When the Listrak-content meta tag is set to true, content items will be eligible to recommend even if the items do not match a URL rule. When the Listrak-content meta tag is set to false, content items will not be eligible to recommend even if they match a URL rule.

The content manager can still be used to disable individual content items. If content is toggled to Off inside the Content Manager, it will not be recommended.

TAGGING TIPS

Up to 10 tags are accepted.

TITLES

There are no character limit for titles. Our best advice is to pick a length that works for you and then be consistent in your own character count. This will make it easier to build your content designs when you know roughly how much text to expect.

DESCRIPTION

There is no character limit for description either. Again, choose a length that works for you and then be consistent in your own character count. 160 characters is a common character count for description.

IMAGE

You should consider two things when selecting an image:

Try to select an image that is at least as wide as your widest email template. If you have an email template of 600 pixels, try to use images that are at least 600 pixels in width. This will offer you the greatest flexibility when placing content in your templates.

Try to maintain a consistent image ratio. This will give your messages a consistent look and feel. You can also experiment with how your image would look at 600 x 230 x 187 pixels wide– all of which are common layout widths.

TIP: 600 pixels wide x 280 pixels tall is a starter size you could start with if you are unsure where to begin.

PUBLISH TIME

Publish Time is used by Listrak to determine when the content item was created on your site. When using the "What's New" recipe, for example, Publish Time (date) will be used to determine what content has the most recent publish date.

NOTE: [* ISO 8601 date format required - for example 2018-01-01 03:56:06 or 2018-01-01]

EXPIRATION TIME

Content with a limited shelf life can be set to self-expire after a certain date using the Expiration Time (date) meta tag. For example, if you had content around a sale with a specific end date, you can use the Expiration Time to stop recommending the content after the sale has passed.

NOTE: [* ISO 8601 Data elements and interchange formats - for example 2018-01-01 03:56:06]
