In order to check if your branding is complete, you must have already added records. Please refer to Branding Your Listrak Account if the records have not yet been added to your DNS server.

VERIFICATION

A quick check of your branding and authentication audit can confirm that your branding is complete. To do so, we'll create a placeholder message.

1. Navigate from the home menu to Authoring.
2. Then New Message.
3. Enter some text into the from email address and subject line fields. In this example, we use "Test."
4. Enter a from email address. It's best to use your actual email address as Listrak will identify invalid addresses. 

5. Scroll to the when to send section and schedule the message for any day in the future. We won't actually send the message, and this prevents us from sending by accident.
6. Enter any text into the WYSIWYG editor. You can again use "Test."
7. At the bottom of the page, click Schedule to Send

8. Now you'll see the confirmation page, including the branding and authentication audit section. If all the items are checked with a green checkmark, you're branding has been completed.

NOTE: Be sure to click cancel, so you're not sending or scheduling a message until you're ready.

DKIM VERIFICATION

It's a good idea to conduct a separate DKIM verification by simply sending yourself a message from your Listrak account. In this example, we'll check for DKIM verification in Gmail. 

1. Navigate from the home menu to Authoring.
2. Go to Saved Messages.
3. Click to select a message for testing.
4. Scroll to segmentation filter settings and click Edit Filter

5. Choose System Fields from the drop-down menu.
6. Select Email from the next drop-down menu.
7. Select Equals from the operator drop-down menu.
8. Type your email address into the text field.

NOTE: Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, and Hotmail all show headers and will show if the DKIM passes or fails. You can still use other email clients, such as Outlook, but may need to find alternatives ways to view the pass/fail for DKIM.

9. Click Update.

10. Click Save.
11. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Send to List.
12. Scroll to the bottom of the page once more and click Send to List.

13. Open the email and (in Gmail) click the drop-down menu on the right-hand side.
14. Select Show original.

The details of the email will now be displayed. What we are looking for is the authentication results of the email. The easiest way to locate this line of text is to use a keyboard shortcut: 

15. Hold Ctrl + F
16. Type "DKIM"

You should see "dkim=pass." 

TROUBLESHOOTING

CHECK ACCOUNT SETTINGS

What if you don't see green checkmarks next to each setting? You can verify your branding settings by viewing them in several places within your Listrak account. The first place to check is in your account settings

  1. Navigate from the home menu to Manage.
  2. Go to Accounts.
  3. Then Account Settings.
  4. Verify you have the correct/desired Domain Alias, Media Domain, and Bounce Domain listed.

CHECK LIST SETTINGS

Now that you've established these settings for your account, you may still need to apply them to your individual lists. You can do so by checking your list settings:

  1. Navigate from the home menu to Manage.
  2. Go to List.
  3. Then List Settings.
  4. Select your Domain Alias, Media Domain, and Bounce Domain using the green radio buttons.

Now when you reach the confirmation page while sending a message, you should see all green checks. For more details about these records, refer to our Branding Guide.
